Or Happy kids etc…do you allow it?

Please can I have people’s opinions on it.

Dd is 6.5 and always wants to watch it, it just looks a load of rubbish..shouty slime videos and so on. Dh thinks it’s fine, i’d like her to watch normal tv or Disney

Nope, I don’t allow it anymore. Do some research and you’ll be amazed how much disturbing content ends up on there. I don’t particularly mind all the slime vids etc in small doses, there’s also Dr Binocs which we used to watch, but the site makes me feel uneasy now tbh. My sister mentioned a minions video recently that had something inappropriate in it, so I don’t think YouTube Kids can prevent it.

Its absolute shite and my child is addicted, i cant seem to ban it but do monitor and restrict!

imcountingtothree123 · 17/03/2025 22:47

Complete no to YouTube kids. My 8 and 6.5 dc used to watched it but did some research and decided against it fully.

LightDrizzle · 17/03/2025 22:47

It’s crack. I wish I’d never put it on my ND daughter’s Kindle Kids.

elrider · 17/03/2025 22:50

Nope, both YouTube and YouTube Kids are banned/locked/removed from all devices in this house (bar having YouTube on my phone for occasionally looking something up)! It's so full of rubbish. I really thought the Kids one would be OK but it's just all crap. They are allowed iPlayer and Disney.

Reugny · 17/03/2025 22:51

Nope.

It's not safe for kids. The content can to have any voiceover over it.

There is also enough kids programming on iPlayer, ITV, Prime, Netflix, Disney+ etc for your kid to watch on a large screen in your living room so you can see what they are watching.

Absolutely not to YouTube (9 & 12yo)
