Contacting social weed around baby

MummyAndLilah · 17/03/2025 00:20

Someone I know smokes weed around his baby daily. The mother also will often but vapes constantly in the home, do I report to SS? Completely anonymously? If they investigated; they would find so much weed. He’s probably growing it.

Yes you should report. How old is the baby? Is he caring for the baby alone at times while under the influence, does he drive under the influence?

I know a family like this, they absolutely stink. The kids clothes, prams and car seat. It’s disgusting. SS have done nothing!

scoobysnaxx · 17/03/2025 00:44

8 months! Yes, he’s already been disqualified from driving while drinking in the last year. My partner’s friends btw. So I’m hoping I can do it completely anonymously. I hate the fact he’s friends with them.

At my sons nursery people frequently turn up with them and their kids and prams etc stinking of weed. No authorities care. It's disgusting.

Disgraceful, report.

Didshejustsaythatoutloud · 05/02/2026 13:25

Report to police first, weed smell is everywhere now. I think this would be quite low on ss priorities, sadly.

FMLGFastMovingLuxuryGoods · 05/02/2026 13:26

Definitely report as they may already have SS involvement. But be expected for nothing to happen

You should contact a Children’s Services social worker. Children’s services rely on referrals like yours, to build up an idea of what a chilld’s life is like. Sometimes it might seem like they do nothing but information is collated and inquiries are made behind the scenes.

And social services still won't care.

100% report. Babies deserve to live a life where they’re not exposed to drugs and drug addicts.
