Good deed of my day

Walking through supermarket carpark this morning… I noticed a note on a window screen. A normal family sized car, with a baby seat in the back, parked slightly crookedly, back wheels slightly outside the ‘inside’ parking line with within the ‘outside’ parking line. It was 9am and the carpark was far from busy. The car was not obstructing anything or taking up more than one space (in a half full car park).

Because I am nosy, paused for a moment to read… it read;

‘if you can’t park your car straight you shouldn’t be driving!!!’

Got a few bits at the shop whilst pondering what sort of person would be compelled to leave this note. Came to the conclusion someone bitter, someone with too much time in their hands, or someone purposefully harassing another.

On my way back out I decided to take the note, scrunched it up into my pocket, and went on my way. Genuinely couldn’t see any positive point to it, and as a mum of older kids now this would have really upset me on a vulnerable morning when my kids were v little.

AIBU: nothing to do with you, don’t interfere
AINBU: remove the fairly minor note, writer is a knob

Not sure if I would have removed it, but you are right that I can’t see what benefit there could be to someone reading it, but yes, it could do a lot of harm if someone was having a bad day.

I am, what Greg Wallace would call, a woman of a certain age.

10 years ago I really wouldn’t have (had the confidence to) remove it 😬

I’m usually v much a people pleaser…

It was a cranky thing to do but maybe they'd parked next to the note writer, causing them difficulty in some way.

It's unlikely they just walk around the car park writing random notes.

But yes, I probably would've removed it too.

What is a 'vulnerable' morning though, just out of interest? (Genuine question).

Vulnerable morning = a night of a thousand baby feeds, toddlers up from 0530, run out of milk, had an argument with your partner, been on night shift etc etc

I would’ve done exactly the same. Random acts of kindness make the world a better place!

now if I could only as easily stop the fat sullen bloke from hoiking and spitting in the street I’d be happy.

Well done OP. My daughter reminded me the other day she remembered me peeling off an anti abortion sticker from a lamppost when she was little. It’s good to take action!
