Posting here for traffic. I have LPA for my brother who is in a care home. I am about to move house so want to redirect my mail and his mail BUT I cannot redirect his mail unless I have an original bill with my new address on it which I do not have as I do not live there yet. Been advised by their complaints department that there is nothing I can do so for a week or so his mail, mainly financial stuff, will go to my old address as it takes them several days to set up a re-direction even if I manage to get an original bill on the day of the move which is highly unlikely. Wish I hadn't been honest now and just pretended he lived with me instead of having to use their Redirecting mail in special circumstances form. So please Royal Mail, do not send me anymore leaflets telling me to redirect my mail to ensure I do not become a victim of identify theft while your own rules are putting my brother at risk from this - rant over!!!!
