To say they look like a character from the trolls movie? As in their physical appearance. Not hair, just like their stature, shape, size, etc etc

Trolls World Tour GIF by DreamWorks Trolls

As in they're bright pink/purple/green?!

Littletreefrog · 14/03/2025 20:50

It doesn't really matter what we think it matters what they/their parents thought. Best not to comment on others appearance at all.

Gundogday · 14/03/2025 20:55

Never seen the film but all the people in the clip are different shape and sizes!

fourelementary · 14/03/2025 20:59

I actually know a grown man who I think looks like Branch from the Trolls. I’d never say it though as yes, it’s rude.

sunshineandshowers40 · 14/03/2025 21:01

I think it is rude and wouldn't take it as a compliment.

Picklepower · 14/03/2025 21:01

Is it true?

Bristollocalknowledge · 14/03/2025 21:05

Context is everything here. Were they putting on colourful sun cream, wearing the same colour clothes or wearing a flowery headband? Which character and how why did they think they looked like them?

It wasn't me that said it and I am not sure which character but basically they said they meant short, stubby, not much of a neck if that makes sense?

Depends how old the child is. All small babies look like old men anyway.

Toddler shaped then?

ComtesseDeSpair · 14/03/2025 22:23

Saying “X looks just like that one from Trolls, you know, stubby and no neck!” to said child and their parents, pretty rude. Some children are objectively unattractive, but it’s not something their parents want to hear.

Making a passing comment to somebody you’re with that an unrelated kid you just walked past looked bizarrely like X character from Trolls? Meh.

Hankunamatata · 14/03/2025 22:24

Don't most toddlers look like smaller trolls?

I know man who really looks like the king Bergen in the first film. The one who fell in love with the roller skating Bergen. Couldn’t figure it out for ages how I recognised him then realised it was the resemblance.

Growuppeople · 14/03/2025 22:26

I would just laugh?

BlueBatsAndOranges · 14/03/2025 22:27

We need more context.

wowwhataday · 14/03/2025 22:29

Not the best

Onlyvisiting · 14/03/2025 22:32

I don't think anyone would consider being compared to a troll as a compliment.
It's the kind of thing you should only say about your OWN babies/children I think!

dontgocrying · 14/03/2025 22:33

A 1 year old is a baby not a child and couldn’t possibly be offended.
if they were 12 it would be mean but toddlers do have weird little bodies and was probably an affectionate joke

Itsoneofthose · 14/03/2025 23:26

Depends who is interpreting the comment. Doesn’t sound like a GREAT comment I must admit. Unless you’re a really close friend or relative. You might’ve meant it in a complementary way. The ones from the 80s/90s were so cute. But no, it doesn’t sound good sorry op.

TwattyMcFuckFace · 14/03/2025 23:28

Meh! If it was said by someone I know and like I'd laugh.

If it was said by someone I didn't know or didn't like, I'd give them the death stare.

Middleagedstriker · 14/03/2025 23:39

A couple of my kids looked like trolls as toddlers. They are more like giraffes now 😂

GreenBag53 · 14/03/2025 23:39

No

HelloVeraPlant · 14/03/2025 23:43

Depends on the persons opinion of trolls.

YourGoldHedgehog · 14/03/2025 23:49

The parent should advise the kid to apologise and refrain from commenting unkindly. I think the 2 year old thankfully wouldn’t fully understand.
