Name changed as spoken to friends about this today.
I had an awful headache yesterday/last night. Nothing new for me, I get them all the time and have done since I was a child. I also get migraines but this wasn't a typical migraine for me. Woke this morning and it was worse. Paracetamol and Ibuprofen finally eased it off after 2 doses of each over the course of the day. Along with the headache came a tingling in my cheek. From eye socket to jawline on one side only (opposite side to headache). This hasn't eased with pain relief and spreads slightly to the other cheek then back only to the one side. I went to the chemist but she had no idea what would be causing it and suggested either waiting til Tuesday to see GP or going to out of hours if it gets worse and suggested some decongestants in the meantime.
The tingling/crawling feeling in my face is relentless and the headache is lingering in the background. DH wants me to ring out of hours but I know they're really busy on a Friday and don't want to seem dramatic when I'm feeling ok (slightly lightheaded but might be from the headache and pain relief all day). The tingling eases off for a bit and I think it could settle itself over the weekend but also google has put a bit fear into me regarding strokes etc.
I'm 40 relatively fit and healthy but do get headaches a lot, more sore in the past few months which I've had a scan for and all clear.
DD gets migraines with face and hand numbness but this is more a tingling/crawling feeling for me and not my typical migraine. I've also had the feeling once before but it went away after a few hours.
