To think cleaner brought carpet beetles

new cleaner came over, did a good job. However, the day later I saw a tiny black speck like a tiny insect on our bedroom floor. In the days following iv found some on the floor and even on the bedding, one on the window sill. I Google image searched it and apparently they are al carpet beetles. I’m absolutely horrified, Wev never had this issue, and I’m sure they came from the cleaner, maybe her hoover or cloths.

does anyone have any experience with these and how to get rid of them. Iv bought a carpet beetle spray but apparently they can hatch again. I don’t even know where they are coming from so can’t kill them off from the origin.

they like dust etc, but we always dust hoover and she did it all so that’s why I’m thinking she must have brought it

Could equally have travelled inwards on someone's shoes. Possible it might have come in via the cleaner, but I would not blame her- just ask her to carry out a check to see if she may have an issue. Unless you are in touch with a number of her clients and they are all saying the same thing.

Yea I’m not going to say anything to her as I’m not 100% sure but it’s just suss how it happened the day after. I’m just dreading them as it sounds like even if u get rid of them they can come every certain season.

Carpet beetles FLY in from outside! They use central heating pipework to crawl throughout the house. They prefer natural fibres like wool and fur etc. They lay eggs underneath your carpet. These, in turn, hatch into grubs, that eat the carpet fibres. A lot of people don't even notice them. Your cleaner most definitely has NOT brought them in. If I remember correctly, when I first found them in my home, the council came and sprayed the carpets. Try contacting them for advice - and if you can take in a beetle, they can identify for you.
