And know what the BBC définition of flexible working is?

I live 2.5hrs away - would I be able to work from home and go to the office for 2/3days a fortnight? Or one day a week?

Just trying to work out if it's worth applying (see previous post about redundancy)

There won't be a unifying flexible working arrangement for the entire BBC. A researcher may well be able to work from home. My friend is a cameraman there and, obviously, doesn't have this option. Apply and ask them. You are not really losing anything but a few hours of interview prep.

I think it will depend on the job. Are you applying for a job that can be done from home?

It will depend on your line manager and your role.
Public service BBC desk workers are meant to be in 2-3 days a week. My team does 2 days in the office, but it’s not strictly enforced by the dept head. Other departments are not so relaxed.
When I was at BBC Studios I had more flexibility and only came in the last Friday of every month. That was our team day as quite a few colleagues were scattered all over the UK like Glasgow and Carmathen.

Also in the application form there is a section about flexible working so you can specify your requirements there.

That's really helpful. Thank you.

It just says it's hybrid and flexible working will be considered.
