My SpaceNK account has been hacked into and orders placed - I didn't get any emails alerting me. I tried to log into my account and it didn't recognise my password- made me change it. Which I thought was odd.
As soon as I got into the account I checked the order history and noticed that orders had been placed and sent to a person and address I don't know. I called Space NK straight away and this is where the nightmare started.
Customer Service said they would take my details but couldn't do anything. They couldn't stop the order that had been placed today and was being processed, They said they didn't have a fraud/security team that I could speak to and there were no managers available. I explained my concerns - someone appeared to have hacked into my account ( I live alone and haven't shared my information with anyone). They now have access to all my personal information including saved credit cards. Initially the customer service person denied that the account had my credit card details but when I proved they did she simply said there was nothing they could do. Appeared to simply not care. I said they must have a fraud /security policy but apparently nothing.
I have shopped with them for years but obviously can't trust them. I have closed my account and will inform my bank. I thought they were a reputable organisation but simply didn't care. Perhaps we now just have to accept such risks when shopping online? Lessons for me- I will never save my credit cards to any other online shop again. The values of an organisation are clear when something goes wrong - they didn't care. no apologies, assurances that they would look into what has happened/ site security etc.
