Will the emergency nest heating still work? And could a power cut cause anything to catch fire?

The Nest thing should have an internal battery and keep running, so your heating should be fine.

Like WHAT would catch fire?! Most fires are caused by unattended flames, and faulty electrics. Not power cuts!

I don't know about Nest heating, but I can't think of any reason why a power cut would cause a fire.

Even if the Nest had a battery, the boiler would not work without power.

Sorry, I meant that the battery would keep the Nest thing going, so when the power came back on, the boiler would work fine, and the system shouldn't need resetting!

(On the basis that most power cuts are very short nowadays).
