Recently went to a hotel abroad. There was a mess up with the payment before we went, which meant they didn’t actually take the deposit from our credit card. The deposit was about 40%.
We tried contacting the hotel several times to get them to take it. At the hotel, we reminded the manager we needed to pay the full amount.
They said sure, please pay X amount. We paid it as we were checking out very early and didn’t want it to seem like we were doing a runner. We messaged the manager asking please could they check we have paid the full amount.
Manager says yes thank you for checking, we have paid the full amount. I don’t think we have.
The hotel was a bit of a disappointment overall so I’m half thinking of just leaving it and not chasing again as we have tried already.
