Me again!
so since November I started suddenly getting sharp lower back pain (left side) and literally one area. It felt as though I could literally push on a certain spot and it's agony!
I then started getting sciatic like pain and numbing in my left buttock put no real leg pain with it.
This then progressed to constant lower back pain and recurring sciatic pain. But then I started getting pain standing/walking and sitting.
I went to a physio and she pushed an areas in my lower back and I screamed in pain!!
ive been on many different pain relief and nerve blocking meds.
I am having to use heat packs every day/night and it's effecting everything I do and my work.
I've also been struggling with uti like symptoms and bladder/ureathra pain again this is a constant since last sep! I am wondering if this would be connected in anyway.
I have had many tests/scans
They found a perineural cyst in my CT scan but as this wasn't what they were looking at at the time and the CT was for my pelvis they didn't have a cause for concern.
however as I raised with my GP that I am noticing when the back pain is worse I have noticed a link with the pain and symptoms below!!
so she chased the CT back and they told her about the Cyst.
I am due for a MRI with contrast Tuesday (two days time)
I was just wondering if anyone on here had had anything like this and if the symptoms sound similar.

love always 🫶🙏

Hi op , how are you getting on with this ? I’ve had lower back pain since 2017. Over the Space of the last year it’s became chronic, I can’t walk more then 20 minutes, I can’t bend over if I do I get stuck trying to get back up! I have aching when I sit. Aching wakes me during the night. Tingling down my bum cheek and back of thigh . MSK referred me for a MRI and the radiographer found. 2 tarlov cysts , bulging discs and mild degeneration of the spine. No nerve compression.

Hi, sorry to hear you've been going through this... I can completely relate!
My MRI came back with pretty much the same but 1 cyst which is pressing on my S1 nerve:
I am currently now waiting on neurosurgeon for their thoughts.
What meds are you on?
I am currently on Gabapentin.

xx

Sorry @Marsh40I have just seen you replied . I am on no pain medication at all (prescribed) over the years I have been self medicating with paracetamol, hot water bottles, acupuncture tens machines . I can’t take any ibuprofen due to having IBS. I do have my review app with MSK on the 24th. I’m not holding out much hope I think they will tell me to just get on with due to none of my nerves being compressed.
do you know when your app is with the neuro surgeon ? Xx
