DP weird with me today and not home when I got in

I live with my partner. He goes to the gym fairly regularly but will always ring me after work to let me know if he’s going there.

i called him on my lunch break (normal) and he was snappy saying he was very tired at work. I’ve got in at 630 and he’s not here (he finishes work and is home for 5 usually).

He has always called me when he finished work, it’s just our routine. And if I can’t answer he will message me and tell me what time he’ll be back from the gym. We were planning on going to the pub later on.

I have no idea what to do and feel so upset but can’t place why

Do you know where he actually is?

Yes I’ve called and messaged, no response.

I have no idea where he is, probably the gym if I was to make an educated guess. It’s the lack of communication and the change from what we usually do. So he could be anywhere

I'd suggest waiting until he gets home then asking about his day/evening.
Don't go in angry, there may be good reasons for unusual behaviour. If you feel comfortable with the answers then maybe tell him that all is fine, you'd been a bit worried because he usually messages, but all ok... it could prompt a low-key conversation about how to be in touch. Alternatively it could reveal if there are tensions there.

He was busy and stressed when you spoke to him at lunchtime. Maybe he’s just delayed at work with something and hasn’t had a chance to faff about sending messages and checking his phone. Or maybe he went to the gym and just forgot to tell you. This doesn’t seem like a big deal?

Do you always have to call each other at lunchtime? Why? Seems quite intense to me.
