Council house bidding

Can anyone help me understand, i bid on a house through the bidding thing and i was second. It closed last night and the status of my bid is “skipped household - make up”. I’ve tried googling and everything to try understand what it means and why I was skipped?

It means you’ve been skipped over for this property for a reason, they have not considered you for it and moved to someone else. It can be for a few reasons, for example if it was a ground floor property and there was someone else in need who specifically needed a ground floor property vs you just bidding on/wanting one.
