Or are Vinted feedback ratings getting harsher?

Been buying and selling on Vinted for a few years. Have well over 100 ratings which are all at 5 stars.

I make sure photos and descriptions are detailed, give honest descriptions etc. I package well and aim to post quickly.

Sold a child's outfit. Buyer offered slightly less which I accepted. Buyer ordered and I posted out the following day.

They've given me 4 stars with one word feedback "Thanks".

But why knock a star off? If a problem with outfit that warrants 4 stars they should say surely.

Not sure what else I could have done other than post same day...

But looking at recent feedback other people have (too much time on my hands today, plus avoiding loading the dishwasher) it seems there are more and more 4 star ratings for people and less 5 stars. And it's got me wondering...

I'm also obviously more invested in my missing star than I should be 😆😆

AIBU to expect a perfect 5 star this time?

I think people get confused when rating and think they're rating the item as if it's a new purchase. The bobbly old jumper with a little mark on the sleeve gets a 2 star, when actually the perfectly described, accurately photographed, beautifully packaged and promptly post 50p bobbly jumper really deserves a 5 star.

But people are often a bit thick

On vinted 4 or 5 stars mean very good or excellent experience @FrogsLoveRain

If you go to the help centre and search feedback policy it will give a list of what each rating means.

Some people do not ever give 5 stars.

As long as you don't get loads of negative feedback, it should not affect your sales.

I always check feedback before buying and also when the seller was last active on the site and then make a decision to buy or not.

Four stars generally means good service/experience, five is exceptional. Unfortunately some people think that they are reviewing the product rather than the seller, I once got a 1 star review because the mint condition DVD I sold for £1 had an actor in it they didn't like and they hadn't realised he was in it, despite him being the main "star" actor and a picture of him on the cover.

People also deduct stars if the delivery wasn't perfect. For instance if the postman was running late that day.

My mother is one of those people who won’t ever give a 5 star for expected it would have to be better than expected. Be that a meal out leaving a review or say buying on vinted.

She says an item or event or meal you pay for should as a minimum be as it’s described so why is that 5 star.

Oh my goodness- that's so ridiculous it's funny. Bet that review gave people a good chuckle 😃

Yes, I've decided she must be one of those people 😆
