Aibu to ask for recommendations for China Town?

Currently in London, and after tonight’s show, we’re planning to head to Chinatown for a late dinner. Problem is, we have absolutely no idea where to go. Too much choice, too little time!
So, wise Mumsnetters, hit me with your best recommendations. Ideally somewhere tasty, not too pricey, and with minimal risk of us still queuing at midnight. Bonus points if they do excellent crispy duck—but no chicken feet or anything too adventurous, please!
AIBU to rely on Mumsnet for my dinner plans? Probably. But here we are!

Wong Kei for the experience!

For Chinese I like Bar Shu on Frith Street. It can be good value for a larger group but maybe pricey if there are just two of you. They do smaller plates - 'Sichuan Tapas' so it is possible to make the menu work if there are just 2 of you.
But my favourite in Chinatown is C&R Café on Rupert Court. It's Malaysian rather than Chinese but is spectacular value and I've never had a bad meal there in over 20 years. However, it is a café so lacks the old school Chinese restaurant vibe and there maybe queues although I've only ever seen a queue on a Saturday night.

Do Wong Kei do a set meal kinda thing?

We went to Four Seasons on Gilbert Street last week and it was great - fast, fresh, delicious and they were super hospitable and friendly - really great service. I was told by a Chinese friend to get the BBQ/Roast meats and greens only and it was a feast for £40

You’re a braver person than me if you go to Wong Kei. They haven’t done well from recent food hygiene inspections. But they are an institution!
I know it’s not Chinese but The Speedboat Bar which specialises in Thai food, is excellent. Really nice food.

A friend of ours who is Chinese always meets us at Royal China. Fairly standard "takeaway" type food but pretty good.

New Young Cheng on Little Lisle Street (I think) is great and where a lot of Chinese people go (always a good sign)

Er Mei is amazing, or if you're up really late and a bit pissed up old town 97

This is useful - we’ve been 4 times and always chosen a place that looks great on the outside with a good menu - we’ve given up now as fed up of being led to a table in a scruffy basement rather than the level you see through the window and being given Coke from a multi pack of the ‘not to be sold separately’ variety. This even happened when we booked ahead in person last time.

Yes Old Town 97 late at night! I can't imagine it in the daytime.
