Car recovery at midnight?

Just woke up to loud repeated metallic clanging right outside my bedroom window.

There's a car that's been parked on the street all day that is apparently needs to be recovered at midnight on a Sunday more than anyone needs to sleep.

The one guy who's come out with a truck to do this seems to be struggling to get it to stay on his vehicle, but has no worries about lighting up the whole neighbourhood or the the echoing of his tools.

AIBU for wanting to sleep so I can get up for work in a few hours or is this a totally normal thing that happens now?

YANBU with not wanting to be disturbed and to get to sleep.

However, looking at a screen and waiting for MN responses will keep you up even longer. Put your phone/tablet away, close the blinds and curtains and drown out the noise with a podcast. Hopefully he isn’t there long much longer and peace will be restored.

Recovery services tend to work 24/7, unfortunate if outside your house but hopefully they'll be finished soon.

I don't think they'll be finished any time soon. The owner is walking around in the road ranting at someone on his phone and the recovering driver who is meant to be loading it is still just hitting whatever is clanging (on the wheels?) repeatedly.
