To ask how much you’d return to work?

I’m mulling over my options before I formalise my request. DH’s income pays all the bills and food shop - every essential outgoing of ours. I’m also looking at setting up my own business next year which will take time and energy to bring about. I’m due back to work in the autumn and cannot decide what is practical. We are married and DH is happy to go with what I would prefer and work more to accommodate this if needed. I have always worked full time but decided I really want to spend more time with DC, even if it means working a few more years before retirement.

Depends how much your full time salary is, what lifestyle you want and if you have decent savings. 3 days a week might be nice if you would have enough money still.

If dh already works ft I'd not want him working more to bring the lost income in - I assume you have a young child and I'd want him home spending time looking after his child outside of his work (barring hobby time for both of you).

So if he didn't need to work more then fine. But I'd not put myself in a position which made dh be away from the home more.
