To eat in bed?

Do you eat in bed?
I always have, but I’ve always kept it from new partners in fear of being judged. I’ve always wondered if it’s normal or not. I’m talking about snacks, chocolate bar at night, tea and biscuits in the morning etc! Not a full blown meal, although I’ve definitely done that before i.e. takeaway and a movie in bed with a partner

YABU - I don’t eat in bed
YANBU - I do eat in bed

DH aand I used to love weekend breakfasts in bed. It was even a criterion when we bought a new mattress. We stopped when we had dc, and never got back into the habit. Now I no longer like the idea - the crumbs, ewww - and only ever eat in bed if I'm poorly with flu and too shaky to get up.

You do you. It's a nice indulgence. Nothing to be ashamed about. Not as long as you don't then sleep in food-marked bedding.

Yanbu but I got flamed for saying that I do this 😭

I love to eat in bed while watching a tv show

NuffSaidSam · 22/02/2025 14:19

Yes and I love it!

Don't be ashamed of who you are.

In terms of partner's you want to get rid of anyone who judges you for this, bring it up early and test their reaction!

sleeppleasesoon · 22/02/2025 14:28

Nope.

Id feel really uncomfortable eating in bed. The ergonomics just don’t make sense to me. I don’t like eating from my lap either.

Im only comfortable eating at a table.

Dippy egg & soldiers in bed at the weekend is something we look forward to, even the dog gets some extra treats to eat when she's by our feet.

AbigailisPartiedOut · 22/02/2025 15:11

Love breakfast in bed. And a hot chocolate and biscuits with my book before I go to sleep.
I'd test the new partner early with breakfast in bed, if it puts them off then you know they're not for you 😁

DancingLions · 22/02/2025 15:16

I was going to say no, but then saw you counted tea and biscuits, which yes I do. It's how I start my day. Anything else, no though.

I remember once chatting to a friend, late at night, both in bed. She mentioned texting her parter who was out at the pub to bring her a kebab back! I said "but you're in bed" she said "yes and? I'll just eat it in bed". That was a bridge too far for me 😂

Spanielsaremad · 22/02/2025 16:32

No. No food or drink at all in our house.

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 22/02/2025 16:33

No, only water upstairs here. I just don't get the appeal of breakfast in bed. I'll go down, eat and go back to bed afterwards.

Teenagerantruns · 22/02/2025 16:39

We used to eat in bed all the time , bacon sarnie for breakfast and sometimes a takeaway pizza while watching a film, l have no idea why stopped to be honest. We also seem to have stopped watching tv in bed, can't remember last time it was turned on. Maybe l will reserect eating and tv in bed😂

Endofyear · 22/02/2025 17:36

I love eating in bed and don't care what anyone thinks 😌 I love a late night sarnie, crisps and cup of tea!

MyLimeGuide · 22/02/2025 17:39

I eat in bed and proud!! One of my favourite things is having breakfast in bed with my 5 year old while watching the box :-)
