Worried about gases !?

I know this may sound stupid. And it’s my fault too. But I was cleaning our bathroom today. I never knew you shouldn’t mix cleaning products together tbh , I’ve always done it but I won’t from now. I used flash bathroom deep hygiene spray and end a clean and fresh line disinfectant. I sprays all the shower tiles walls of the shower and the glass door ( it’s an open shower now a door that closes ) and the floor etc. I then thought I would leave for 15 min to soak and go back to scrub . Well it’s the holidays and I forgot as had both kids at home!!!

my husband came home from work to shower , he got in and had a 1 min rinse before our son went running in she 3.8 and wanted to shower with him, my husband had no clue about the cleaning just knew he could smell cleaning etc. husband opened window , got in shower on his own for about 1-2 minutes , sprayed all the shower off , then our son joined him , but the bathroom did smell like cleaning products , and in so worried about the steam etc and my son breathing in all the products and what it might do to him. It was alrund 4/5 hours ago now and he’s been absolute fine . Would you worry? I’m going to attach the products used , my husband thinks I’m been ridiculous but am I? Would you worry or not? The bathroom was ventilated by a window open by the time my son went in but obviously he still went in and had a steamy shower

Hi OP

I can understand your worry although if your little one hasn’t reacted after nearly 5 hours, I think it’s unlikely he’s going to be unwell from it. If you’re still concerned by the time you go to bed, could you sleep in his room tonight?

Yes, I knew in theory that products can react together, but not which ones with which, I’m afraid. I use mostly white vinegar, lemon juice and a bit of washing up liquid sometimes.

Hope that puts your mind at rest a bit.

It's products containing derivatives of bleach (ingredients like perchlorate or similar) and/or ammonia that give off dangerous fumes if combined with some other cleaners and you would definitely smell them if you had. All you've done here is mix some disinfectants.

It only causes the gas if you mix bleach products with other stuff. Quick Google will tell you. You're fine.
