To give up on flaky mate?

I'm on the verge of giving up on a mate. Only known her about 3 years and our kids get on great but she's flaked twice recently. Also I've been out with her before and we've seen people who she was meant to see that day but she's bailed on and is out with us. She also double books alot. It's getting frustrating. I dont like flaky people at all. It's rude.

💯 move on. She’ll continue to do this. Your time is value and it’s disrespectful.

I’m in a similar position and struggling to let go of the flaky friend because she’s having a tough time. 100% it’s disrespectful of you and your time.
Most people have their phones attached to them 24/7 so no excuse not to use the calendar if you’re forgetful/continuously double book..
You should definitely let go, and I hope I’ll take my own advice soon 😂

I wouldn’t waste your time with her. Behaving like this shows a lack of respect

CuteEasterBunny · 20/02/2025 19:58

I wouldn’t completely drop her if the kids are friends but I would stop asking to meet up unless it’s convenient for you.

Sometimes when we meet too it's like she's booked lots of other things the same day so her head is never there. She let us down last week for a meet the next day at 10pm.

Just go quiet on her. Phase out. Leave the ball in her court.

I had a friend who did the same thing. Cancelled on me last minute one too many times that the benefit of the doubt ran out. The last time was as I was putting mascara on to meet her for a drink. The last year I’ve been ill and now she’s all over me and I’ve stopped replying! Not a really friend. I’m sure you’ve got others.

Yes annoys me too. I found if a pattern of it I let it fade out.. just time wasting

Thanks all

She's moved slightly further away and I've noticed she's actually had a fair bit of childcare from us over the past year. Maybe now she's moved and that's not a possibility anymore she's flaking ?
