I’ve had diarrhea and vomiting. Now can’t keep anything down including fluids. I’m having palpations and shivering, aches. My vomit is now frothy and white.

Yep. I avoid doctors like the plague but even I’d call for that.

Barney16 · 19/02/2025 20:26

Yep. Right now.

PeloMom · 19/02/2025 20:27

Sounds like the stomach bug that’s going around. Call them up
and see what anti nausea meds they recommend for you so that you can start drinking

UninterestingFirstPost · 19/02/2025 20:28

I would after 48 h, if it hasn’t been that long I would wait and see

RedHelenB · 19/02/2025 20:29

I wouldnt

gamerchick · 19/02/2025 20:31

I drink as much as I can. Even if I do throw it back up. Usually full sugar juice or fizzy full sugar coke. Gives something to throw up as well rather than just bile.

EMary12345 · 19/02/2025 20:31

I'd wait till it had been a couple of days with a sick bug - I doubt there's much they can do and will probably tell you to wait it out. If you've got any medical conditions that could mean it's dangerous then obviously that would change things.

Unicorn97 · 19/02/2025 20:43

Ok thank you I have been taking paracetamol and I can feel it getting stuck, it’s horrible. It’s been around 30 hours or so

See how you are in the morning. Keep taking sips of water or flat fizzy drinks.

mynameiscalypso · 19/02/2025 20:56

That sounds like a standard stomach bug - I get the frothy white vomit when there's nothing in my stomach and I'm just throwing up bile. I'd definitely try to drink a few more sips of liquid because it's nicer throwing that up

QuestionableMouse · 19/02/2025 20:58

It's a phone call. Better to ring and get the reassurance than keep worrying.

Crochetcamel · 19/02/2025 21:01

If in doubt call 111.
They’re not there just for emergencies, they’re there to send you to the right place to get help so the services that are there for emergencies don’t get unduly clogged up

Crochetcamel · 19/02/2025 21:04

Also the nhs website tells you specifically to call 111 if you keep vomiting and cant keep water down or have been vomiting for more than 2 days

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 19/02/2025 21:05

I would never call 111- call you back after 20hrs with a line of take yourself to a&e. I’d give it a further day if someone is with you, if not go off to a&e.
