Clothing brands

What's with all the nonsensical, full-of-whimsy women's clothing brands these days?

By Far
Question Air
Their Nibs
Nobody's Child
And/Or

I guess they're supposed to be redolent of summer meadows, eternal youth, tossing around a mane of glossy long hair, but what does "Question Air" actually mean, FFS?!

Anyone else find them irritating??

Never heard of any of them so no, not irritated

ShushImTalking · 18/02/2025 13:28

Question Air sounds like a Chinese - ium type of name on Amazon. Some weirdly random names on there.

That's interesting - I hadn't considered they could be a result of a speaker of a foreign language trying to find some vaguely English-sounding words to form a name. You could be on to something there.

I think it's actually Nobody's Child, Everyone's Planet.

ShushImTalking · 18/02/2025 13:37

As for the whimsical styles, they don't irritate me, as they aren't at all my style so I don't even notice them.
If an item has a floral print or busy pattern, ruffles, tiers, bows or ribbons, is a very bright or harsh colour, I just ignore. We all like what we like.

LaineyCee · 18/02/2025 13:37

Their Nibs are great! Good quality and reasonable price and some beautiful prints. I think they do a range of styles- some are classic, while some are more quirky. And they’re pyjamas! People are wearing them when they want to feel relaxed, but when they’re presenting a serious image to the world.

I like several of these brands. I don't see what the issue is. If you don't like their style don't buy from them. If they are staying open obviously enough do purchase from them.
The names doesn't irritate me I quite like the "Question air" name.

Personally I don't like jeans/denim but I get other people do.

Btw I'm in my mid 50s

Actually I kinda like that. Thanks - I had no idea.

I think I was maybe a bit unclear, but it's the names that irritate me, not the products.

Also, it was sort of lighthearted - I'm not losing sleep over this!

They do have some nice designs, I agree.

Bit confused by your last comment though. If there was an occasion when I wanted to present "a serious image to the world" I probably wouldn't choose to wear pyjamas...

Isn't And/Or a JohnLewis brand?

Completelyjo · 18/02/2025 13:53

I wouldn’t say any of those names are particularly whimsical.
