Does that mean the baby was smuggled as some posters at the time suggested?

Context: A couple left Britain (leaving a child behind) so the woman could free birth in the Caribbean. They said the baby was born in international waters and then struggled to get the baby registered anywhere.

Some people here have been following the case for a while :)

I have just tried searching but can’t find anything under yacht or free birthing.

The people smuggling charges were related to a couple of men they had on board - I can't remember where they were from but the report indicated they were not treated well by the couple and obviously didn't have papers either.

There are some crazy updates, and I feel incredibly sorry for the poor children.

Two long back threads on this. Good for a cold wet winter afternoon read. Couple went to the Caribbean to birth on the beach with the fairies and mermaids, but without any medical back up or respect for life admin/paperwork.
Long, long story short.
Older child left behind in UK.
Baby, unregistered birth, no passport/citizenship.
Couple found guilty of people smuggling (pretty damming evidence) and serving custodial sentence in Caribbean.

Two children completely let down by space cadet parents. Sigh.

Thanks for that. I wondered what happened to that couple and the baby. I always thought it strange they refused to give blood to check paternity.
