6 year old DS with sore foot

He said that it started hurting at school. He’s limping a bit and trying not to put pressure on the foot, but not crying out in pain. There’s nothing I can actually see when looking at the foot itself.

I've attached a picture of where he says it’s hurting.

Just wondering if anyone’s child has had anything similar?

Plantar fasciitis

What can be done?

Also he says it doesn’t hurt when standing on a soft surface (the bed or sofa) but hurts when standing on the floor.

Plantar fascists or achilles tendinitis.
Ice the area, and ensure he is wearing really good supportive trainers and school shoes and doing them up properly, no converse or similar trainers.

Ok thanks, he’s sort of walking with his foot to the side and hobbling a bit because he says it hurts and feels ‘soft’ in his words.
He can bear weight on it though, as I got him to stand up straight with both feet on the ground and he could do it without crying or anything.

I'd give him some pain relief now and ring for a doctors appointment in the morning. It could be any number of things so best to get it checked.

It’s not even that bad that he needs painkillers to be honest. He’s playing, jumping and climbing as normal. Doing forward rolls on the bed tonight.

My son had this at around the same age. I took him to the DRs who said it was called ‘severs disease’. They grow out of it, but she suggested some exercises against the wall to relieve it. I’d never heard of it before that.

Growing pains..my ds had foot pain for years (on and off). I got him to stretch more and iced his heels if it flared up. Fine now!

It seemed a bit better this morning, but showed up again this afternoon when I collected him from school. He showed me that these two parts of his foot hurt. He’s still able to walk on it, but kind of isn’t putting pressure on the sole. It seems improved on a soft surface and he’s still running up and down the stairs.
No crying out or anything, it’s all very strange.
