Accidently thrown out my hrt medication

Stupidly I accidentally threw out my 30 days worth of progesterone thinking it was the empty box. Im on continuous type, so need to take both gel and progesterone daily. My prescription is not on repeat as I've only been on HRT for 3 months. Not sure what to do. Will my gp prescribe me another 30 days? I feel so stupid.

Yes they’ll replace it. Just phone and explain to the receptionist.

Same thing happened to me. Went away for the weekend and left my patches at the hotel. I phoned on the Monday and they sent a prescription to my local pharmacist.

Friend lost her repeat script when her bag was stolen & they replaced. They may call you in for a face to face to be ‘sure’ you’re ok.

i’m not a GP but I am a dr. Call your gp surgery on Monday (or email if that’s their preferred way for prescriptions) and tell them what happened- they should then do another prescription for you. They won’t bother about it as a one off, we all lose things occasionally!

It would only be an issue if you were doing it repeatedly, as this would raise the concern that you aren’t taking it as prescribed. Or with some medications, that you could be giving it to others/selling it (not HRT, I wouldn’t have thought).

I think GPs are used to this. I had to ask for another prescription when I lost all my spare medication moving between hotels on a busy holiday.
