Do people still lock eyes

When they’re attracted to each other…that look between two people in a club, bar, train…wherever? I had it so many times when younger.
Just watching the film, The Lost boys and the part where Jason Patric and Jaime Gertz, first lock eyes.
Miss that feeling
Does that still happen with the youth of today, or anyone really?
How do people get together?

Dh and I did - he asked me to marry him two weeks later. 27 years on - still happily married.

Strong sexual attraction is part of human nature, so yes, obviously people will still lock eyes.

It's a great feeling when it happens.❤

Nah, they're looking at crap on their phones. It's a shame

I think so. Happened with me and my husband when we first met. Happens still now if we're out somewhere and see each other across a room or whatever. We still get that moment you're describing.

Don't they do it by liking something the other said on their phones?

sweetpickle2 · 09/02/2025 16:44

Yes people make eye contact. Weird question.

Funykeudfh · 09/02/2025 16:46

I'm too long married and too busy in every day life for this to happen in a normal day to day setting BUT I recently had this on a bloody teams meeting at work! A bloke I get on with who is on my team but lives 5 hours from me and we'll probably never meet in person- we literally had the locking eyes moment I literally had shivers and felt all weird for a bit I blushed and had to pretend to have a cough and turned my camera/mic off for a minute to get a hold of myself. Absolutely ridiculous. I've no doubt if we were single and worked together we'd be all over each other. Such a random odd feeling and I haven't felt that way since meeting my husband 20+ years ago!

What an odd thing to ask. Of course people ‘lock eyes’. Eye contact with someone you find attractive is an instinctive human behaviour; it hasn’t disappeared because of the existence of smart phones.

I bet its reduced it though - most people are looking down at screens now most of the time it seems. Such a shame really.
