Am I over the top

I'm a single mum and I'm used to doing it all on my own
I also have anxiety
dd wants to go with her friend to an event and the friends parents have said they will collect

I feel worried about this and worried they will drink alcohol when driving them back. I have no basis for this other than they like going out. So I know I'm being silly. In the past iv done everything myself because I feel like I need to know everything is ok. But dd is 14 and iv todsy reminded her if she is ever in a situation she feels is unsafe to call me or if anyone were drinking then driving

aibu for thinking like this or do others feel the same ?

It wouldn't even occur to me that another parent would drink alcohol if they were driving. I think you need to let your DD have some freedom now she's getting older.

The anxiety answers your own question. It is so very unlikely they will drink and drive. Does your imagination run away with you often? Have you seen your gp about it? At 14 she needs some freedom.
