Came overseas to visit in laws and attend a wedding in another area. We have 5 days with in laws and DH wanted to catch up with a few old friends while here. So far we have has two of his friends cancel on us because of child care. Tonight we rushed home from lunch with another friend of his to meet his best friend who had booked us in for an early dinner. We waited an hour to find out DHs friend has booked for the following weekend and had made a mistake. Came home exhausted and pissed off to find DH had booked us for dinner with said friend tomorrow now, after we have a full day with 3 more of his friends. AIBU to be pissed off being dragged from pillar to post and feeling bad for in laws that almost all of our time here has been spent dicking around trying to chase people for plans that fall threw/ get buggered up with lack of basic planning. I dont know his friends well so couldnt arrange it myself but we dont have a single evening free where we arent chasing old mates around and im exhausted!

I wouldn't spend my time abroad having back to back meals with people I don't know to be honest. Leave him to it if he wants to meet up with his friends.

Although the best plan would have been to just have one big get together and whoever could make it, made it at the specific time and place, and if anyone couldn't make it, just spend a half day/day doing a run around theirs if it was really that important.

Have you pointed out to DH that it would be nice if he spent a bit more time with in-laws? I would let him go and meet his friends and spend a bit of time with PIL myself but then I liked my in-laws!
