ADHD meds - angry outbursts?

Hi, to those whose children have started Methalphynidate to treat ADHD, have your children had angry outbursts? And if so, did this lessen once they had been on the medication for a while?
DS is 5 and just started on 10mg but keeps having angry moments at school.
Any advice appreciated! xx

Are the angry outbursts due to the medication, or due to the adhd?

My son has angry outbursts when his medication is either not kicked in yet or wearing off …. Not so much when he is actually medicated

Not a child, but as an ADHD adult I had this when the meds made me feel more anxious - the anger was a bit of a red herring for anxiety.

DS is less emotionally regulated when he is off the meds, yes. It's also something I had not really connected with ADHD until I noticed it returning when he came off them one school holiday. I hadn't noticed it slowly getting better on the meds (not instant).
