Post MMR Vaccine

Hi,

My DD has had her MMR jabs last Thursday and since then has really gone off of her food. I think she looks like she's lost some weight.

She also has a cough/some sort of bug where she keeps being sick too and any milk she does drink keeps coming back up unless it's in very small quantities.

When does it get better? Should I see the GP? I know it's common for children to have a loss of appetite following jabs but she's never been this bad/had symptoms for this long before.

Thanks,

Sara

She's probably gone off her food because of the bug, rather than the jab?

chargeitup · 04/02/2025 21:36

There are lots of bugs around and the one your dd has is likely why she's lost her appetite

CluelessNotMalicious · 04/02/2025 21:44

Have you got a HV you could talk to about thus?

PotaytoPotahhto · 04/02/2025 21:46

Sounds like she has a bug rather than it being the MMR that’s made her unwell.

You won't get any correct advice or point of view on here regarding this matter.... It wouldn't matter what you said the reaction was, when it started etc. It is all denial. denial, denial..... Saw it multiple times, particularly over the last 4 years.

Our children have had a bug like this the last few weeks. It’s gone round the school. It’s been awful!

Go on then, what is the “correct” advice?

How old is your DD OP?

the advice will differ depending on age.

hooe she feels better

user11290 · 05/02/2025 21:00

She's 14 months.

Almost a week now she's been off of her food. It'll be a week tomorrow. She's lost weight :( I hope she feels better soon too.

If I take her to the GP I think they'll just say it's a bug. It'll be a week tomorrow since the vaccine too. Can't pinpoint exactly what it is. Could be a combination of both
