Feeling anxious about starting a new job tomorrow

I start a new job tomorrow in a new sector after taking a 7 month break following a very stressful and traumatic work situation. Without going into too much detail, I faced serious discrimination in my last role and eventually reached a settlement. I never wanted to go down that route but had to stand up for myself.

Since then, I’ve taken time to recover but I still feel apprehensive about returning to the workplace. I want to go in with a fresh mindset but I also don’t want to ignore the reality that my last experience has made me more cautious.

AIBU to feel nervous? Does anyone have any advice on starting a new job after a long break, especially after a toxic workplace? How do I balance protecting myself while also giving this new role a fair chance?

It's hard but you will be strong enough to do it as other wise you would not be here. For me it was a complete change of industry and I was so nervous. In fact it worked fine and I stopped 3 years in with a promotion.

Remember nerves about new situations is normal
You have met new people before
People can be friendly and not be toxic.

That was what I kept telling myself and it worked.

You can do.it op.
