Watering Eyes

TheSlowRush88 · 02/02/2025 19:16

Just posting here for traffic.

I am nearly 50 and my eyes have started watering in any temperature change, and air con and today they have just been streaming constantly, GP wasn’t much use.

Anyone else experience this and have any advice please?! 🙏

I get this! Started mid thirties. I was worried but my husbands aunt assured me it's a normal part of aging for some and that she get it too, my MIL agreed

I don't have any advice unfortunately but I am interested if anyone else has. I'm suffering from the same thing and it's driving me nuts. I assume you've tried allergy eye drops and eye baths, antihistamines?

TheSlowRush88 · 02/02/2025 19:25

Yep tried everything and they just run, make up
comes off I look like shit to the point where I just look like I am crying. I took my dad to hospital and misplaced him and told a member of staff I had lost him and because my eyes were streaming so badly with the air con sir though I meant he had died.

Urgh there must be a solution, it’s been a few years now.

Weirdly it's actually caused by dry eyes which is very common around menopause. Your tear ducts work less well and then will suddenly go into overdrive. You need to get some eye drops and use several times a day.

Theoloz duo eye drops is your friend! Am surprised GP did not advise

Mine started in my mid 40s. Streaming in a slight breeze, in the co etc. I mentioned it when I went for a routine eye test and the optician said it was dry eye. I was very sceptical but tried carbomer drops for dry eye and it really helps. Definitely worth trying

In the cold that wasn’t supposed to say

This. I use lubricating eye drops and they help a lot
