Didn't know where to post but I've just watched Mariyan Keyes Instagram Story and The Walsh sisters from her series of books are getting a tv series. I've been reading these books for years and was over the moon when she gave us a sequel to Rachel's Holiday. Anyone else as pleased about this as I am, exited to see who will play Luke Costello and Ridey Joey!

So it's based on Rachel's Holiday and Anybody Out There? I loved both of them.

Stephanie Preissner, who created RTÉ’s ground-breaking comedy drama Can't Cope, Won't Cope

I didn't know this about Stephanie P, I thought she was a journalist for the Indo.
Can't Cope, Won't Cope is sooo good, equally funny and heartbreaking.
RIP Nika McGuigan - she was amazing in it, way too young when she died 💔

Sorry for the derail! Do watch Can't Cope, Won't Cope if you can..... it's actually really sad.

This link suggested it was going to be based on the first five books - I wonder if plans have changed or one of the links is wrong? it will be a shame if Claire, Maggie and Helen don’t get their own stories.

Well this is exciting news! I’ve just literally finished reading Rachel’s holiday about an hour ago. Luke is hot!

ChessieFL · 14/02/2025 14:58

I have never heard of any of the main cast or seen them in anything so will reserve judgment.

One I have heard of is Samuel Anderson (Fingers from Gavin & Stacey) who will be playing Aidan.

Do each of the sisters get their own story?

ChessieFL · 14/02/2025 15:00

In the books they do - Claire in Watermelon, Maggie in Angels and Helen in The Mystery of Mercy Close.

I definitely think they should start with Watermelon.
