My daughter is in Year One and is having a birthday party soon

I have invited all the Year One class to her party.

she is also friends with some of the Year two's and she wants to invite them to her party too.

is it mean to only invite some of the year two class and not all?

for added context the school is very small so year one and two are somewhat integrated but still seperate if that makes sense

Most year 2s probably won't know her. I take it that it's just a select few she's actually friendly with.

I think it is fine to not invite the whole year two class.

Just invite friends if you want, you don't have to invite the whole class - even for yr1.

No I think it's fine. She's with the year ones all the time so knows them all well. She knows the year twos much less well, so you're picking out the ones she really knows!

It depends. If she only invites girls then that's fine to not invite the boys. If she leaves out just 1-3 that's not so cool.

so she's only asked to invite 6 Y2's so not like only leaving one or two out. The only thing is they are all girls and I don't know how many girls are in Y2, so wouldn't want to have left out only one of the girls. (Btw it's very small class sizes max 13-15 kids so this is a possibility)

No, it's a tiny class so I think the whole class of Y1&2 should be invited.

In that case I think I would try to double check who all the girls are in that class and invite them too as it will probably only be a couple more anyway.

Just read your update, I’d probably invite all the girls in year 2 as there’s a high chance 1 or 2 girls could be left out.
