Posting for traffic.

Has anyone used hypnotherapy for kids with toilet issues/anxiety?

We had DD6 are at the end of our mental/medical ropes and looking for alternatives.

If so, experiences please?

Can you elaborate about your DD's toilet issues?

My 16 year old son has suffers with Paruresis (shy bladder syndrome) so he can’t pee in public/ college toilets etc, can only pee at home or if we are on holiday, will only pee in the bathroom in our hotel room, holds it all day. ..this has been going on for a while now so I have just started looking into hypnosis or there is a 3 day course he can do, as he/we think it’s in his mind, not a physical/medical issue.

Ignore all above your DD issues are not the same.

She has a very slow digestive transit, which is coupled with fear of going for a poo on the toilet. She then ends up with massive soiling issues.

She will poo, but only in pull-ups.

We believe it is completely psychological and have tried every trick in the book

She had an emergency enema a couple of weeks ago and is now on 2 types of laxative every day and another one at the weekends. Very little poo, but then today she had 3 accidents at school.

School are amazing, but we want her to be able to poo normally. She was under S&L for a while due to comms issues.

She has been dry, wee wise really early on and quite happily uses loo for that. Just not poo.
