I might regret this, but following on from the hot debate on the latest Trump thread in which some posters argued vehemently about this, what do you all think is the ultimate driver behind criminal acts? I'll try and keep this as neutral as possible:
- Nature - some people are wired that way; the terrible implications of this argument is that we are all pre-programmed, pre-destined and some are by nature more deserving than others.
- Nurture- regardless of our origins & genetics, we are all born a blank page and there's always a way out even though sometimes circumstances are stacked too high against us; but it's society making us bad, not our predisposition.
- Chaos - it's a combination of both, life and our behaviour is a three-body problem.
Curious to see if there's a consensus.
