DC2 is terrified of Yoda - he’s 11 if that helps.

Happily watch Death in paradise etc but Yoda it’s an extreme reaction. It’s everything the face, the voice, soft toys, Lego and now the name.

He likes the rest of Star Wars etc and knows he is a ‘goodie’.

I have said we will run with it for now and listen to him and remove / not discussion of him etc He has loads of Star Wars Lego and an annual etc that’s fine (although he has cut out any mention of Yoda from the annual and binned them) etc

So it’s hidden on Disney plus and we don’t have any mention of Yoda etc and haven’t for a long time.

At our local shopping centre we went through a shop and then suddenly there was a Yoda soft toy and a quote - very positive and uplifting. DC froze and started to cry so I covered his eyes and picked him and carried him out.

I can get it - he’s green, leathery etc and we’ve discussed not judging people by how they look. DC gets all that but still can’t cope and it’s getting worse not better.

is there anything we can try He knows he isn’t real etc but it’s become a reaction he can’t control seemingly.

He’s happy and loves sci fic but just not Yoda! I’m wondering if it is worth looking at it or just acknowledging it (current strategy, removing Yoda from the situation, reassure). Did anyone have an extreme phobia and then ‘got over it’? Did anything help?

Almost Undoubtedly, he will grow out of this level of fear with age
