My ds has been attending his nursery for just over 1 year now. He loves it there and gets on great with all the staff.
The management staff have changed 3 times since we viewed the nursery in September 2022 and the nursery staff turnover is high.
When my ds started the manager was great. Very friendly and helpful especially for me as I was new to the "nursery world" and how it works with childcare hours etc. My ds loved this manager and they would regularly come down to see and play with the children. I don't know if this is standard in other nurseries?
At one point my ds would only go in if this manager came to take him in.
3 months after starting the management changed. The new management staff are in my opinion, vile and I feel sad that they are so different from the one they replaced.
They never speak or say hello to me as a parent or my ds.
My ds said he never sees them and they don't come down to his room.
One of the managers walked past me and my ds in the entrance to nursery and completely ignored us whilst my ds was distressed and sobbing because he didn't want to go in. I too was distressed because he was. However there was no Hello, is everything OK? Can I help...nothing.
Am I wrong to think she should have offered some support as a senior member of staff or at least called one of his teachers to help?
They sacked one of my ds's teachers instantly on the spot because when asked during an inspection if she felt that the management were approachable she said no.
They don't always reply to emails. It seems depending on the topic. If it's a complaint or if its maybe not in their favour they just ignore it.
I hate having to ask them anything or contact them as I feel really uncomfortable knowing that they will just be rude.
I had to collect my ds's professional photos and had to go to the office for them and I actually felt nervous to go. One of the managers who was in the office didnt greet me or even look at me when I arrived. I said I was there for pics and they just got them, told me how much and said ok when the payment had gone through. No goodbye thank you nothing.
Luckily the actual nursery staff are wonderful and all have a fantastic relationship with my ds. So I have no concerns with his care whatsoever.
I just don't feel that the management should behave in this way and just get away with it?
The nursery are run by a private company.
Am I just being an over sensitive unreasonable nob who just needs to get over it? Is this just trivial stuff in the grand scheme of things?
lm happy for honesty but not general un-kindness please 🙂
