Am I unreasonable for being annoyed ?

My partner and I are finally going to move out from our in laws with our 11 month old son.

My MIL is already planning how our furniture is going to look and how to decorate it etc.

It's annoying me as we know how we want it

Then she'll suddenly say that it's too small and not good enough etc.

Aibu for feeling annoyed? How can I manage her?

It's fine you'll move out soon enough then just get on with it

Smile nod and say ‘Yes Julia’ don’t rock the boat after living with them. Presumably they were doing you a favour. When you move in, decorate however you want and if she says anything say ‘I like it this way’.

I hope you’re moving Far Far Away?

Just tell her you will be making your own decisions. Or did her MIL design her house?

Is this a DH problem? How will he react once you are moved?

'Oh, right, that's an idea.' 'Mmm, maybe.' 'Oh, you'd go for lilac everywhere, that's unusual.'

Perhaps after staying with them so long, she's feels like she knows your taste style etc. Just do what you want when you move in.. maybe abit of gratitude when you clearly had no where else to go too.

But you chose to live with her and that is still something to be grateful to her for. Just nod and say you will decide when you are living in it.

But you have free will! You could have easily stayed where you were, surely!?
