To ask if anyone else constantly gets spots after eyebrow waxing?

Doesn't matter who I go to, I always end up with pimples around the area a couple of days after an eyebrow wax. Anyone else? And anything i can do about this?

Yes this happens me too. I now get them threaded instead. Can only assume it's some sort of reaction to wax 🤷‍♀️

Didimum · 24/01/2025 20:35

Yes. Not sure if it’s preventable

Have you tried putting talc on your skin prior to waxing? Obviously modern baby powder rather than talc but it stops the wax sticking to the skin and only pulls the hair

I'm ok if i immediately wash anything they've put on my skin off afterwards

RainbowZebraWarrior · 24/01/2025 20:38

Me. Same if I wax my 'tache'

I've given up now I'm post 50. Weirdly, it's all stopped growing so much (likely to to with menopausal lack of Oestrogen) but my god I spent decades trying to control hair growth and ending up with spots and ingrowing hairs.

Ohplesandbanonos · 24/01/2025 20:41

I used to. The way I avoid it now is to ensure my skin is completely clean beforehand. I use a washcloth to gently exfoliate the morning of my appointment. Afterwards I apply almond oil to ensure there is no remaining wax, then thoroughly wash and then gentle moisturiser and almond oils again overnight.

I do my own at home now so the redness goes down overnight and I don't get any spots.

Just stop waxing your eyebrows, it’s not compulsory.

Spongebob35 · 24/01/2025 21:07

Thanks for all your replies!
It isn't compulsory but I'm terrible at doing my own eyebrows and I find threading really unpleasant with the way they make you stretch your skin and everything.

Always did but threading never ever does this so switched to that!

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 24/01/2025 21:12

I sometimes get them on the very edge of my lip when they've done my tache.

Go to a salon that offers HD brows and ask them to wipe over with “vanish” after your wax, it stopped the problem completely for me.
