You are right but that is an issue between the artists and the AI database holders/creaters. In due course this will shake itself out and payment will need to be made to artists and collecting societies in the same way as libraries paid for photocopying of its books. It's the same as saying to people back in the dark ages 'don't photocopy a book because you are taking money from the author who wrote it you should buy a book'. Once the photocopier had been invented that was just not going to happen.

In terms of users on this thread using AI, it doesn't make any practical difference here because no one would pay for the generation of an throw-away image of marginal amusement. It is not something of real commercial value so it isn't actually competing with the work of a commercial artist in any real way.
