Price for new bath & basin fitting

So I now realise the importance of getting multiple quotes but before I cancel ans/or delay, I just wanted some opinions.

We’ve been quoted £1990 for this work:
-painting bathroom ceiling
-removing and replacing same size bath
-removing and replacing sink
-boxing up about 30cm of pipe

We have already bought and paid for the bath, basin, taps, waste units etc so the plumber says this price is just for paint, sealant, timber and 4 days of labour for 2 people.

I questioned about the price and he said he could take £250 if we take our own waste (bath, basin etc) to the tip and do the painting ourselves...

Any thoughts? Many thanks in advance.

In the NE a plumber would cost about £250 a day. As it’s been done by 4 people that sounds right to me.

Sorry! Obviously being done by 2 people for 4 days so that sounds about right.

Might be cheaper to get a decorator to paint the ceiling.

The price per person per day seems fine and about what I would expect, but I’d question why this job is going to take 2 people 4 days.

We had a bath & sink taken out and new put in when doing our extension last year and it took the 2 people basically just over a day, they came and did it over 2 days but were done, tidied up and gone by lunchtime the 2nd day after arriving at 9am ish so I don’t see how it’s going to take them another 2.5 days to do 30cm of boxing and paint the ceiling?
