To stop using Mumsnet because of all the current glitches

I know there's a 'site stuff' place. But people are posting on there and there is no response from MN, and nothing has been resolved.

On mn (not on any other place) I get pop-ups with a virus warning [click here - which I never do]

Then within 30-60 seconds my mn screen goes blank - just a white page. It is infuriating and makes it impossible to use the site in any meaningful way.

I'm on a PC using firefox.

I'd be sad to lose all the valuable contact and information I get here, but this is impossible.

Have you tried a different browser? Seems okay on Chrome.

PizzaPunk · 21/01/2025 22:17

Sounds annoying OP.

I'm on a laptop using Google Chrome and everything's fine.

Doggymummar · 21/01/2025 22:17

I use an adblocker and have had no issues

CharityShopChic · 21/01/2025 22:18

I have reported this numerous time too - I’m on chrome and it’s only OK with an ad blocker.

Oh maybe that's why it works on Chrome. I use an adblocker.

Echobelly · 21/01/2025 22:21

I get the virus thing as well, it's only occasional so it doesn't bother me too much, but glad to hear it's not just something about my laptop

AnnPerkins · 22/01/2025 11:37

I'm getting this on my PC using Chrome. Even trying to post this it's crashed 😡

It's not.

Pixiedust1234 · 22/01/2025 11:40

I am using Opera on my android tablet. It has an automatic adblocker too. I have no pop ups, no adverts, no lagging.

Perhaps try a different browser first?

BigDahliaFan · 22/01/2025 11:42

I'm alright on a laptop on Chrome. Or on Ipad using private browser. It's a shame the app is crap on android.

jasjas3008 · 22/01/2025 11:46

Got this too, FF and Chrome, emailed MN, they are looking into it...

JackieGoodman · 22/01/2025 11:51

I've been getting fed up with it. On both AVG secure browser and Chrome. Turned on adblocker now so hoping that helps.

they've been "looking into it" since November.

Pixiedust1234 · 22/01/2025 19:36

I wish I hadn't posted - literally 10 minutes afterwards I have got the horrendous lagging 😮

pilates · 22/01/2025 19:43

Yeah it’s really gone downhill

Puzzledandpissedoff · 22/01/2025 20:04

Quite simply I don't expect this will ever be resolved as long as a sufficient number are still using the site; it's a business, with posters providing the "product" and thus driving advertising revenue

I've no idea if the issues have caused a drop in users though ... does anyone know if there's any way to find out?

sharpoldtimer · 23/01/2025 09:10

My wife's new laptop was using the Microsoft edge browser,so I installed the chrome browser and is still getting the malicious macafee pop up,it's originates from Russia if you google the web host.

I'm use a Macbook and am on Firefox, but have an ad blocker. Never see any of these 'glitches' nor malicious ads.

sharpoldtimer · 24/01/2025 22:42

Since my original post regarding the macafee pop up,my partner has now confirmed the problem has been resolved by MN,browser was not the problem as it happens on them all,so they have actually responded to our posts and sorted it out at their end.

Wavescrashingonthebeach · 24/01/2025 22:44

I'm on an android phone and never experienced this

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/01/2025 23:55

I use the app on iphone and no issues

It’s not the app it’s the website that’s the issue.

I use Safari and it’s terrible with all the freezing and reloading pages. Does my head in.

The new app is ok, but I prefer the website generally, when it works of course.

Smout · 25/01/2025 00:51

Terrible lagging using Safari on iPad so I tried Firefox but ended up with the same problem. Having read BigDahliaFan’s post , I am using Safari with private browsing enabled and it is working normally now. Thank you

Plump82 · 25/01/2025 00:55

I use chrome on my android. Dont get any pop ups etc but the page just freezes and then I get a message saying to close the Chrome app.

madaboutpurple · 25/01/2025 00:59

The same happens to me Op.Yes i get cheesed off at the blank screen. I am putting up with it as I thought it might be due to the storm. I hope it gets dealt with.
