To book a week off already

God I'm so fed up of working!!

I'm sat here just staring at my laptop, avoiding all the work I have to do, in some sort of executive paralysis.

I have a nice job, but I just can't stand the thought of doing this for another 30 years 😩

I feel like I need a week off and I've only been back 3 weeks!

Why not? I had last week off for a coach tour to Scotland, it was nice to break January up, it's bloody miserable!

overthinkersanonnymus · 21/01/2025 12:06

@Itsallabouttea that sounds fabulous

We just spent a few days in Tenerife. It was lovely and warm, and the boost will get us through to the end of January. If you can afford it, go for it OP

I've booked all my holidays for this year, making use of bank holidays to maximise the time. It's nice to have things to look forward to

overthinkersanonnymus · 21/01/2025 12:47

@NotSorry how warm was it? I've never been away in the winter months, it sounds like I need to do that.

Hi, it was 23/24 during the day. It got a bit chilly in the evening but it was so nice to be able to wear sandals and sun dresses daytime

I work full on from when I leave the house at 06.30 until I get home again at 22.00 four days a week. I'm on holiday this week, not going anywhere, just relaxing at home, maybe a little shopping later in the week...

I'm taking three days next month too, and another couple of days in March.

I learned a long time ago that sometimes it's good to just be and not do. Live a little, you'll love it!

Jesus what do you do for a living @Cabinqueen I'd need a week off every month doing those hours!

Enjoy your time off x

I think the clue is in the username for @Cabinqueen? Grin Probably also explains why she's not in a rush to go anywhere when she's not working?

I'm also suffering severe executive paralysis and have come to realise that I hate working at a screen.

Cabinqueen · 21/01/2025 16:49

@overthinkersanonnymus @Bjorkdidit working in the NHS...

overthinkersanonnymus · 21/01/2025 17:14

@Bjorkdidit ha! Not cabin crew 😂

I too think it's the working at a screen that I hate. I'd love to be moving around and "doing something".
