Are there any cons to getting a non molestation order?

Are there any cons to getting a non molestation order?

I have two kids with my ex, not sure how I go about handovers (currently in public place with CCTV, take someone with me). Then medical things like hospital appointments, I don't want to have to deal with him because he causes problems when he does show up, but on the other hand I/the kids need him to show up so he understands what is going on as he simply refuses to follow my message attempting to share information or the doctor's letters (currently only attends a few appointments for one child that he deems as important, but doesn't attend any for the other child).

Panicking slightly, but the DV group are saying i should get one. Not even sure if it bad enough of a situation to be able to get one if I am honest!

I just don't want to make the situation worse for the children. As he tends to tell them things they shouldn't know and they come home confused/angry. Back to court for the 3rd date about the children in a few months. But on the other hand I don't want them to continue witnessing his behaviour towards me.

Any advice? I would really appreciate it.

Have you contacted the NCDV?

https://www.ncdv.org.uk/

We use them at work when people need Non-Mols.

I'm sure they'll go over everything you need to know, there is a good FAQ section too.

domestic violence

Domestic Violence & Abuse · Emergency Injunction Service

A free, fast emergency injunction service to survivors of domestic violence regardless of their financial circumstances, race, gender or sexual orientation.

@DivergentTris thank you for this. My local charity put the referral in with NCDV, they've done my statement, now waiting for the solicitor to call. I didn't know about the faq section, will take a look now. Thank you! It's all happened so quickly so I'm just worried I'll make a mistake which impacts the kids.
