Been invited away for a long weekend with my family who DH gets on well with. I have been every year for the last 5 years, DH has only been once because he is usually working but this year has got the weekend off.

Saying he doesn't want to go. Fine. But also saying l had better let him know if l am going because he's not sitting around all weekend on his own which is him saying he will be stroppy if l go. I know damn well he won't plan anything else - it's only 2 nights - would you go anyway if you were me?

Of course I’d go but my DP would be relishing a weekend to himself, not getting in a strop.

Consider going one way? My dh takes me to the station when I go away with my mate... Once a year as life is too hectic for more!

No not really - not usually a problem. Just weird he only said at Christmas how much he likes my family. Probably cos it wasn't his idea.

Can he not change his time off...
