Worried - baby spluttered on milk

First time mum and finding myself worry about all sorts, I suppose it comes with the territory

My newborn baby was feeding and coughed and unlatched herself. She has done this before and usually I would sit her up and let her cough but because we were in public and I was spraying everywhere 😂 I just relatched her quickly. She continued to feed. Burped as usual and a little cough with some milk sick came up. I think this may be reflux? I am just wondering if this is ok, I am worried she may have inhaled some milk

Thank you xx

I'm not sure how old your baby is but my 3 month old does this several times every day and my now (extremely healthy) four year old did it loads too, please don't worry!!

If you have a fast letdown this can happen a lot. Don’t worry! It’s also normal for them to ‘posset’ some milk up.

Yes sounds like a fast letdown, if it happens frequently hand express some just before feeding

This is quite normal - it's a fast letdown and a newborn takes a while to get used to the flow of milk! Don't worry, it will settle down. Bringing up a bit of milk or even a lot every now and again is fine, it's just wind and isn't necessarily indicative of reflux.
