To wonder if they’ve been talking about me

I am now in the work Facebook group chat, mostly updates and just general chat about stuff but all messages around the time I started and up to a month or 2 after have been deleted

Everyone talks about everyone, op, as hard as it has been to accept it.

There's nothing you can do about it - I'd assume it was harmless settling in stuff and not worry myself

I understand the worry but you'll drive yourself mad. xx

Do you have to belong to the group?

Personally I’d have nothing to do with it based on not wanting to be involved in a hatchet job when the next new member of staff joins the group.

I don’t think you can see previous messages prior to being added to the group. Our work WhatsApp group is very dull, usually asking for staff to cover sickness and details of training sessions. The only time it was interesting was when someone posted a long angry rant aimed at her daughter, not realising she’d posted it in the wrong WhatsApp group 😂😂😂

When you join an existing group you can only see what what has been posted since you joined.

So even if they have been talking about you, what would it change? Also, your timeline doesn't make any sense. If the messages were deleted up to two months after you joined then surely you know the content.

I doubt they were all talking about you, unless there's some drama that you're involved in that you haven't shared here?

I joined a couple of days ago and can see up the end of October but no further. I started in September

They haven’t been deleted. When you join an existing WhatsApp group, you only see the messages that have been sent since you joined
