when I don't even use it that much and it has increased £50 from last time.

I am with EDF and they have been really expensive despite claiming cheaper bills - whilst I'm at it can anyone advise on a better fuel provider?

we are £400 in debt on our gas bill........... - only just found out - they don't appear to be worried about it (we pay by direct debit)

Notalone · 04/05/2008 10:11

That is an awful lot. Have a look on Uswitch and that should tell you who the cheapest supplier would be based on your own consumption and area

Notalone · 04/05/2008 10:12

PS- I am about £500 in debt to lovely British Gas because they grossly undrestimated my bills

Dottydot · 04/05/2008 10:15

We used uswitch after a similar bill from British gas last year. We changed to Atlantic and have had much more reasonable bills.

mybrainaches · 04/05/2008 10:15

Oh I am so glad I have a pre-paid meter

amidaiwish · 04/05/2008 10:22

we cut our electricity and british gas loads just before christmas by going with npower for both and paying by direct debit.

before we had seeboard for elec and british gas for gas.

it's really worth looking into.

amidaiwish · 04/05/2008 10:23

crush - are you sure it isn't an estimated bill btw? sometimes they send through really high bills just to get you to read the meter and phone the reading through.

CrushWithEyeliner · 04/05/2008 10:31

i will double check. Was with british gas before but changed due to , well i guess i got sucked in to the marketing and thought it would be cheaper - i am gutted i don't have the money!
